Ch- Ch- Ch- Changes

The last few months have been a real season for change for us. Good changes, healthy changes. We have gotten involved in a home group with our church. I have started working and finished school. We bought giant pink chairs. See? Very important things are a changin’. Sometimes with all the good changes, sad one creep up as well. I have lots of friends over here but there is a group of 5 of American housewives that has become pretty tight. We have had an uncountable number of lunches together and been a great support group for one another through the ups and downs of living here. We even bring the husbands along to play on the weekends and luckily they all get along swimmingly as well. But people’s lives are changing. Sarah and Ivan welcomed the much adored little Sophia in January and Tamara and Shaun will be introducing us to their son in a matter of weeks. But the sad news is that Katie and Nathan and Meghan and Andy are headed home. They were all here on one of those delightful firm 2 year assignments and their time is up. The girls went out for steak and gossip one last time before Katie and Meghan hop on a plane! I am a little jealous but mostly I am excited for them and the new chapters of their lives and sad that such good friends are going to be an ocean away. We did have a good last meal!

L-R: Tamara, Andrea, Sarah, Meghan and Katie.

We are planning on having a reunion one day and getting together all of our London friends once we are all back in the good ol’ USA. But until then it will go to keeping up with each other through emails and facebook and blogs- luckily we are all pretty good at that by now!

    Andrea,
I feel your pain. Five of my close London friends left this spring too, and I’m really missing them. On the other hand, I’m meeting some really wonderful gals who are just arriving, so I’m sure new adventures are just around the corner.

    Cheers,
    Debi
