Questions and Pictures

We had a fairly low key weekend, the highlight being a night of Italian food, Cranium and Apples to Apples with our friends. Nothing really blogworthy. We are busy getting ready to leave on Thursday for a long Valentine’s Day weekend in Paris!! My question for those of you who have been to Paris is: what should we do? Where should we eat? What is a total waste of time? We have some books and have looked on the internet but all of our friends here have said that they just walked around, ate at places that they stumbled across and walked around some more. We are both first timers and so we will have to do all of the traditional things like the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre Dame, flea markets etc etc. I am also budgeting lots of time to sit in cafes and people watch and drink espresso. If you have been, is there a specific restaurant that you think we need to try? An activity that we can’t miss? We would love your advice!

Because that isn’t really a full post, here are some pictures of Christmas in Texas that I never got around to posting.

Going to Mike’s work party. Hello BIG HAIR.

This is the story of a newlywed-ish couple in Dallas about to pack up their lives and pups to move to jolly ol' England. They will miss good family, good friends and good fajitas.

A suggestion from someone who has only dreamed of Paris: Stroll along any beautiful path with your Sweetie while listening to someone play La Vie en Rose in the background and soak up all that is involved with BEING IN PARIS ON VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!! Have a wonderful time . . . and take lots of pictures!

The Palace of Versailles, would be my first stop after the Eiffel Tower.

It was the official residence of the Kings of France from 1682 until 1790. Think Louis XV, Mademoiselle Pompadour, Marie Antoinette, gilded furniture and lots of mirrors!!! It is supposedly one of the most elegant palaces in Europe. Hope you can find time to visit so that I can hear all about it!! Here is a site that will help you with logistics:

I loved the pictures, so since I don’t know anything about Paris I will just wish you both a “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY” and hope you have a great time in Paris.
