Fish and Chips and Magic

On Sunday we headed out in the London rain to investigate a local market. It wasn’t exactly a picturesque food market nor a touristy antique market but rather a slightly sketchy market that sold everything from washer dryer combos to counterfit Nikes. It was quite an adverture! Then we headed out to indulge in some local fish and chips at the Belle Vue Pub in Clapham.

We rode the second half of the Big Bus tour and then headed up to King’s Cross Rail station. We wanted to see platform nine and three quarters. Because we are BIG NERDS. Harry Potter nerds that is. There is now a sign for platform nine and three quarters. Real Harry Potter fans like us are quick to point out that HAVING A SIGN DEFEATS THE WHOLE PURPOSE!!!!!!!!! But, I digress, here are the fun pictures.

About fishandchipsandsalsa

This is the story of a newlywed-ish couple in Dallas about to pack up their lives and pups to move to jolly ol' England. They will miss good family, good friends and good fajitas.

Love the pink boots. You aren’t the only nerds.
    Here’s my nerd story.
Last Thursday I saw two of my students very well dressed. One in a striped oxford with a cable knit sweater, her hair in a bow and the cutest little glasses. One in a starched white shirt, Khaki pants, dress shoes, belt, pencils in his pocket ready for class, a glasses case and his hair was beautifully combed over to one side. I commented on how nice they looked, only to be informed that “It’s NERD DAY, Mrs. C” Well, I guess it takes one to know one. I loaned the “white shirt” my pocket protector.
