We’re Home??

Hi everyone! We are finally here. The flight was great. The leaving part was awful and we don’t talk about it much. There is too much to have to do. But we do want to thank all our friends and family who have all housed us, fed us and spent time with us in the last few weeks- I think that might have made it even harder to leave but we wouldn’t trade it. We are at an internet cafe now and that is why I have no pictures yet and haven’t been able to skype anyone. We are slowly but surely getting things set up. We got in the flat yesterday and the electricity and water were already on! We went last night to a few places to look for an aero bed but couldn’t find one so we bought a few pillows and figured that the floor wouldn’t be that bad. We were wrong. The floor was hard and the bedroom was freezing because the heat wasn’t hooked up yet. Mike got up in the middle of the night and put his jeans and three t-shirts on! We got the heat working this morning (we think) and have found a place to get an aero bed and will go get it when we leave the internet cafe. We went to the grocery store yeaterday to get a couple of necessitites (read: toilet paper) and some bread for breakfast. They just delivered our fridge and washer this morning so we really couldn’t get groceries. It has been a good but frusterating two days. Everything just seems to take longer here and it has gotten both of us down a bit. We are really trying to have everything set up by Monday when Mike has to go to work. I don’t mind being home alone but home alone with no internet, no tv, no furniture and no cooking utinsels? Not so much.  Thanks for your love and your prayers. Hopefully, I will have more info and pictures in the next day or so!

Hi sweetie’s! If it’s any consolation; we don’t talk about the leaving part much here either. Monday evening was difficult to say the least! Thanks for the call. It was wonderful hearing your voices and knowing that you arrived safely at your new home. I taped the telephone conversation for Dad because he misses your voices as much as I do. He was thrilled.

Now I will revert back to my comment of April 3 to try and encourage you, “You’re going to have so much fun! You will find inner strength and confidence that you never knew you possessed! You will learn to depend on one another and not your families thereby growing closer.” There will be difficult days yes. But, just remember the dreams, opportunities, and aspirations that you had when you made this decision. Your responsibilities and challenges may seem overwhelming at times (Think Survivor at least you’re dry!). But, you are making wonderful memories.

And remember this….Do not lose the courage you had in the past, which has a great reward. You must hold on, so you can do what God wants and receive what he has promised. Hebrews 10:35-3 NCV

So glad your flight was uneventful. Frustrations on the ground are much better than in the air. Aunt Jeanne’s advise was so eloquent mine is to have fun, mistakes make the funniest stories, and soon you will be so busy you will forget to blog and I’ll be stuck with just my imagination. I can’t wait to vicariously live the life in London.

It is June 1st as I reply. Allison Kate arrived on Friday weighing in at 7 lbs 9 ounces, Ann Marie is delighted to be a big sister. Chantel and JT are proud. I have been in Austin at the state softball tourneyment ( we lost in the bottom of the 7th with two away) and haven’t gotten to see her yet.
