Fajita World Tour Stop 1: La Hacienda Ranch

After church on Saturday night, Mike and I decided to embark on our first plate of fajitas for the tour. La Hacienda Ranch is a fun place designed like a big lodge with tons of mounted and stuffed animals on the walls and they are a steak/Mexican food  place rather than just Mexican. We love the place and it was everything that we expected it to be.

We split a beef fajita plate for one and a side of Sundance sauce (cheese sauce with lots of green chilies.)

Meat: Because this is a steak place the meat is great. However, it is very tender and falls apart as you are trying to pick it up. That is a downside for us but really more a personal preference than quality issue. The onions could have been cooked more. We both like really grilled onions and these were still a little white and firm for us.

Tortillas: Regular soft and good but nothing special.

Chips and Salsa: Excellent. Thin and crispy chips and rich smoky salsa.

Other: No shredded iceberg lettuce on the plate of sour cream, guacamole and cheese!! This earns HUGE points with us. I think that the portions of the sides were pretty small even for single serving but we made do.

Overall: Great place with a fun atmosphere and is huge which makes seating large parties easier than lots of restaurants. Everything was average and above average and it was a perfect place to spend a Saturday night!

About fishandchipsandsalsa

This is the story of a newlywed-ish couple in Dallas about to pack up their lives and pups to move to jolly ol' England. They will miss good family, good friends and good fajitas.
