We are home from our wonderful vacation in Greece! This is the longest trip that we have ever taken together and we had a great time. We flew into Athens and spent a couple of days there before heading to the isle of Lesvos for five days of chilling on the beach. This was also our first real beach vacation together (we don’t count Barcelona because it was chilly and we didn’t spend any time on the beach). When we got to Athens we spent the afternoon climbing around the Acropolis and then had an amazing dinner. I really wish I had paid more attention in world history! I am not going to embarrass myself by trying to name the specific various really old stuff we saw.
That was our first day- or partial day I guess- in Greece! I have tons more pictures and stories coming soon.
I know this is gonna sound stupid, but while everyone else is thinking about all of the ancient history surrounding you and your visit; I couldn’t help but think about my interior design class from college (I guess that’s ancient history too) and the study of columns; Doric, Ionic, Corinthian, and friezes, sculptures, and pottery.
Wow, what a great time you guys must have had! 5 days!!! Did you think about the Greek Goddess Athena and all the battles.
